Sleazy Peek: Inkswel - The Sound [Apparel Tronic]

Yo Sleazy peeps, it’s a pleasure to introduce you the latest apparel record, released on Apparel Tronic , the bliss tentacle of the A Legacy. Here at the Sleazy B Towers we’re always happy to spread something different from our usual listenings so here is this amazing 180 grams of jazzy, bubbling hip-hop eight tracks from the man Inkswel . I can’t fail to say that Apparel is one of my favorite imprint because of its absolute care about what we call MUSIC and nothing else than that, and I’m talking about the amazing Apparel Wax concept series of course! But let’s get back to Inkswel ’s LP: This record is a joy to listen, 8 tracks with different flavor and influences but mainly hip hop oriented. We had our peek with “The Sound”, that with its very sleazy walking bass and beat instantly cause head shaking! mix that walking beat with some wiggling trumpet samples and bubbling synths and my only wish is to make a 10min edit of this instrumental vers...

KM Editions Vol. 6 (KM Editions)

We boarded the Keyboard Masher express when number 4 in the series hit the shops (the one with the massive Todd Rundgren edit (Synthesize) we covered a while ago) and immediately bagged number 5 when it landed, which was easily one of the finest releases in downtempo-balearo-edit-land of 2013. What followed was well over a year of radio silence and just as we were starting to get worried this particular keyboarded had had his fill of mashing, number 6 suddenly showed up. Happy to report it was well worth the wait as we're being treated to a trio of left-of-centre disco edit delights here. 'Stolen Shapes' takes up the entire A-side, a cheeky rework of an 80s vocal synth-pop track. I'm not familiar with the original but it sounds decidedly European and I can only imagine how hilarious the haircut of the dude manning the keyboard must have been. The track certainly has its charms but I can't really see myself playing this out anywhere to be honest. I can howev...

Sleazy Peek: Vincenzo De Bull - Champ 1 [Whiskey Disco]

I personally love Whiskey Disco very much, bringing some solid heat every release! Also this time we could be happy with usual expectations, Midnight City head oncho Vincenzo De Bull delivered this 4-tracks baby that will hit stores this friday 5th October! Here at Sleazy B towers we had our peek with “Champ 1”, that kind of affair could flip the dancefloor on a lazy beginning. Had few words with Vincenzo about his sample choice that has a story many of us had already: when you came across an original song containing it and thoughts come back from the past about a record you loved, featuring the same sample: “Faaack I had to do something with it!” he said. Track builds tension very well keeping original’s swing but turning electric as well. We spread our love to Whiskey Disco imprint as back in the days, grab your copy folks!
